| Define Leadership | The ability to direct people, give them instructions and make them follow follow and obey you. |

| Describe an Autocratic Leader | The manager makes all the decisions without consulting the employees. |
| Describe a Democratic Leader | The manager involves employees when making decisions. |
| Describe Laissez Faire Leadership | The manager does not interfere with how employees do their work. |
| What is Delegation? | An important part of being a leader is delegating work to employees |
| What is an example of Delegation | The Human Resources Manager might ask his assistant to interview candidates for an important vacancy in the business because he doesn't have time to do it. |
| Advantage of Delegation is | Sharing the work out among the employees gets the work done faster. |
| Disadvantage of refusing to delegate is | Employees are unhappy. They think that the manager has no faith in their abilities. |
| Importance of Effective Leadership | Improved Efficiency, Improved Co-ordination, Employee Retention and Change. |
