Parody | An exaggerated, often comical work that takes elements from another work. |

Plagiarism | The practice of passing off another’s work or ideas as one's own. |

Examples of items that are in the public domain | Works that have expired copyrights, Government documents, Facts, titles of books or movies, history, news, procedures. |
Ideas | Cannot be copyrighted. Ideas are not a “work" |
Public Domain | Creative items that belong to the public, and are not subject to copyright protection. |
Creative work | The product of creative effort to make something original: pictures, music, video games, and any kind of writing. |
