Desktop Publishing

TermDefinition
Fill includes patterns, solids, or shades that "fill" the inside of an object.
Shift clicking means holding down the shift key while you click the mouse. (This is how you group objects.)
Handles are small squares at the edges of a graphic.
Skewing changing the shape and size of an object out of proportion.
Logo is a graphic of symbol that represents an organization, like a business or a school.
Desktop Publishing uses a computer to combine text, graphics, and artwork on a page to create an effective publication.
Graphics pictures that illustrate the meaning of text. (Clip Art and Objects)
Clip Art a collection of graphics that are already drawn and available for use.
Object (Graphics you can draw) are squares, circles, and lines you can draw and manipulate.
Typeface a design of type.
Font a specific design of type, style, and size.
2 types of fonts- Serif (squiggles) & Sans Serif (no squiggles)
Points Typefaces are measured in _____.
Symmetrical layouts contain shapes and text that are in the same place on both sides of the page.
Asymmetrical layouts contain shapes and text that are not in the same place on both sides of the page.
