Week 9 General Computer Apps terms

TermDefinition
column the vertical arrangement of text in two or more side by side sections
column break places a hard break, at the insertion point and forces the rest of the text to appear in the next column
column spacing the amount of space between text columns and can be adjusted by the user
toggle a key or command that alternates between being on or off, such as the caps lock key, by just clicking the button or striking the key
tabbed list a list made up of columns created by setting tabs
Tab leaders characters, usually dots or dashes, that fill in the space between tab stops
table an object that uses cells organized into rows and columns to present data
indent to move a selection farther away from the margins than the text around it
justify alignment setting that distributes the text evenly between left and right margins
object-specific tool tabs ribbon tabs that only appear when an object other than text is selected, and contain formatting tools for that object
