Line | considered to be a moving dot |
Shape | a two dimensional area confined by a actual line or implied line (geometric or organic) |
Form | describes a three-dimensional geometrical figure as opposed to a shape, which is two-dimensional (Cube, Cone, Sphere, Pyamid) |
Value | defines how light or dark a given color or hue can be |
Color | an element consisting of hues, of which there are three properties: hue, chroma or intensity, and value. Color is present when light strikes an object and it is reflected back into the eye |
Texture | as a tactile quality of an object's surface. It appeals to our sense of touch. |
Space | shows the distance between objects in art |
Color Wheel | a circle with different colored sectors used to show the relationship between colors and how they are made. |
Primary colors | Can make all the other colors (Red, Yellow, Blue) |
Secondary Colors | Violet/purple, Green, Orange; happen when 2 equal parts of a Primary color mix |
Tertiary Colors | Made from mixing a Secondary color with a Primary color |
Warm Colors | describe any color that is vivid or bold in nature. Warm colors are those that tend to advance in space and can be overwhelming. Examples of warm colors include red, yellow and orange |
Cool Colors | used to describe any color that is calm or soothing in nature. Cool colors are not overpowering and tend to recede in space. For this reason, cool colors typically make a space seem larger. Examples of cool colors include green, blue and violet |
