Basic Components of Control Systems Sensor Mechanisms, Integrator or Control Center, Effector Mechanism, Feeback
Element Pure in the sense that it cannot be broken down of decomposed into two or more different substances.
Compounds CAN be broken down or decomposed into elements that are contained within them.
Catabolism Chemical reactions that break down larger food molecules into smaller units which release energy.
Anabolism Involves many chemical reactions that build larger and more complex chemical molecules from smaller subunits.
Organic substances in in the human body Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins, Nucleic acids and related moeclules
Carbohydrate contain the elements carbon, hydrogen and oxygen-USUALLY in the ratio of 1:2:1
Cellular Respiration 3 pathways are chemically linked together, to form larger catabolic pathways, Glycolysis, Citric Acid Cycle, and Electron Transport system.
