Tu es désolé qu'elle ait raté son avion. What does this sentence mean? You're sorry she missed her plane.
Tu es désolé qu'elle ait raté son avion. Why is rater in the past subjunctive? You're sorry she missed her plane, but someone else might not be.
Tu regrettes qu'elle ne soit pas arrivée? Why is arriver in the past subjunctive? You might be sorry that she didn't come, but someone else may be happy.
