Some career Vocab

TermDefinition
Apprenticeship An apprenticeship is where you work for someone to get some on the job work experience.
Business plan A list of goals that you want with you business
Career portfolio Something the show you what job you would be good at
Certificate A document to show you have completed a course and have its knowledge.
Consumer Someone who will buy and use your goods.
Corporation A business owned by many people, though it acts like one.
Education and training requirements The background skills needed for a job.
Entrepreneur Someone who organizes, works with or for, and assumes the risk of someone or there own business.
Entry-level jobs Jobs that do not require as much skill and work the job you are going for.
Global economy The world wide economic management system.
Internship A paid or unpaid job that is in your career position.
Job qualification All the skills, education, and experience that you need for a job.
Job shadowing Job shadowing is were you follow a person around and watch what they do for there job.
License A permit that allows you to do a specific thing.
Manual labor Work performed by humans.
Mentoring getting tips, and tricks from someone that has more experience than you.
On-the-job training Learning on the job.
Outsourcing Using outside resources for things that a company does.
Professional A job the needs a lot of skill and experience to do.
Self-employment Someone who organizes their own time and business
Specializing To work in a specific area of work
Vocation A job that you are well qualified for.
Work ethic The rules and behavior you are supposed to maintain at work.
