Week 8 General Computer Apps terms

TermDefinition
shortcut menu when you right-click on a selection, this and the mini-toolbar appear with the most common choices for that selection
mini toolbar an extremely brief version of the ribbon that appears when you select text or right-click, showing the most common formatting options for that selection
line spacing amount of space between lines; can be adjusted
paragraph spacing amount of space between paragraphs; can be adjusted
gallery a drop-down menu with pictures instead of a list
insertion point the place in your document where the next action will occur
tabbed list a list made by setting tab stops to create columns and the Enter key to create rows
drop-cap a large capital letter that's used as a visual element at the beginning of a paragraph
dialog box some commands open a box on top of the document so you can provide more detailed information about how you want the command carried out (conversation between you and Word about the command)
task pane a smaller window that opens on the side of the Word window to help you complete a task (like finding a synonym or correcting an error)
