Week 5 General Computer Apps Terms

TermDefinition
word processing act of creating, editing and producing a text document
cursor black blinking vertical line located on the document
insertion point location where text will begin, command will be inserted, or graphic will be placed; location is where the cursor is
alignment position of text or graphics in relation to the left and right margins
margins blank areas around the sides, top, and bottom of a page
clipboard temporary storage location for all of the items which have been cut or copied on the computer
backstage view commands related to managing Word and document settings, which is accessed from the File tab
ribbon the name of the Word toolbar
status bar located at the bottom of the Word window; shows page count, word count, and active view, among other things
title bar located at the top of the Word window; shows document title, quick access tool bar and collaboration tools.
