Artboard Similar to a piece of paper
Objects When you create one or more lines
Lines What is cause when you draw in illustrator
Anchor Point A point on a path that indicates a change in direction
Line Segment A line with a start point and an endpoint
Path A blank line that appears when you draw a line
Open Path A path with separate anchor points on each end
Closed Path A path where all anchor points are connected to each other
Shapes Mathematical shapes
Transformations Moving rotating, reflecting, scaling and shearing objects
Stacking Order The order in which objects are stacked in illustrator
Selection Tool Used to select entire objects
Direct Selection Tool Selects points or path segments within objects
Stroke A line of color that precisely follows a path
Fill Characteristics of the inner area of and objects
Swatches Named colors, tints, gradients, and patterns
Gradients Graduated blend of two or more colors
Patterns Are designs of different colors and shapes
Drawing A graphic made of mathematical curves
Pen Tool Allows you to define your anchor points
Bezier A curved line or math defined by mathematical equations
Image Trace Automatically traces a raster graphic and converts it to a vector graphic
Pathfinder Allows you to combine multiple objects using interaction modes
Effect A layer applied to objects to change its characteristics
Point Type Added to a document at a specific location
Area Type Fills a portion of an image
Type on Path Follows the edge of an open or a closed path
Text Wrap Forces text to wrap around a graphic
