Artboard the area of the illustration
Objects Any shape, image, or text that can be moved
Lines an open ended path with two anchor points
Anchor Point basic component of paths, which appears at the start and end of every path or where it changes directions
Line Segment part of a line that ha san anchor point on each end
Path made up of one or more line segments
Open Path one or more paths for which the start points and end points are not the same
Closed Path a continuous path that has no beginning or end
Shapes Geometric based tools that allow you to create primitive shapes
Transformation scaling, rotation, shearing, and reflecting
Smart Guides guides that appear as you move around a document indicating various points of alignment.
Stacking order the order of how objects are arranged on the artboard
selection tool selects an object or group of objects
Direct selection tool select anchor points or paths
Stroke the outlines of a shape or path
Fill to put color, or pattern into an object
Swatches named color or tints
Gradients filling an object with smooth tansition
Patterns repeated
Drawing using shapes or other tools such as pen or pencil to simulate things
Pen Tool in uses anchor poitns to allow you to create a line
Bezier a curved segment path
Image Trace a tool in a vector program will take a raster image
Pathfinder a tool that contains 4 shape options
Vector Effects commands that can be applied to an object
Point Types a line of text that begins at the point that you click
Area Type uses boundaries of an area created by dragging
Type on Path allows you to attach text
Text Wrap controls how area text flows over or around an object
