Term | Definition |
---|---|
Caption | Few descriptive words and are typically used for figures, tables and equations. |
Crop | Trimming the horizontal or vertical edges to remove unwanted areas. |
Drawing Canvas | Serves as a guide |
Embedded object | Picture that becomes part of the document and is no longer connected to the original image. |
Floating object | Allowing text to wrap around the image in one of several available formats |
Inline object | Moves along with the text that surrounded it |
Linked object | Creates connection between the document and the external picture file but doesn’t incorporate the image into the Word file. |
Scale | Increases or decreases the original picture’s height and width by percentage |
Screen clippings | Enables you to draw a box and capture an image of its own contents |
Screenshot | Enables you to capture images of all or part of the current screen display and insert them directly into your documents |
Shapes | Figures such as lines, rectangles, block arrows, equation shapes, flow charts, stars, banners, and callouts. |
SmartArt Graphics | Graphical illustrations available from a list of various categories |
WordArt | Feature that creates decorative effects with text |
