Word Lesson 8: Using Illustrations and Graphics
| Caption | Consist of few descriptive words, and are typically used for figures, tables, and equations. |
| Crop | Trims the horizontal or vertical edges to remove unwanted areas. |
| Drawing canvas | Serves as a guide to make it possible for you to change the shape, add text, apply styles, fill with theme or standard colors, create gradients, add textures, and apply preset effects. |
| Embedded object | When you insert a picture into a document, it becomes part of the document and is no longer connected to the original image. |
| Floating object | Word positions an image precisely on the page, and allows the text to wrap around it in one of several available formats. |
| Inline object | Configure the picture to move along with the text that surrounds it |
| Linked object | Creates a connection between the document and the external picture file, but doesn’t incorporate the image into the Word file. |
| Scale | Increases or decreases the original picture’s height and width by a percentage. |
| Screen Clippings | Enables you to draw a box and capture an image of its contents. |
| Screenshot | Enables you to capture images of all or part of the current screen display and insert them directly into your documents. |
| Shapes | Figures such as lines, rectangles, block arrows, equation shapes, flowcharts, stars, banners, and callouts. |
| Smart Art graphics | Graphical illustrations available from a list of various categories, including List diagrams, Process diagrams, Cycle diagrams, Hierarchy diagrams, Relationship diagrams, Matrix diagrams, and Pyramid diagrams. |
| WordArt | A feature that creates decorative effects with text. |
