Using Illustrations and Graphics
| Term | Definition |

| Caption | consist of few descriptive words, and are typically used for figures, tables, and equations. Adding a caption to a picture provides readers with information regarding the image. |
| Crop | trim the horizontal or vertical edges to remove unwanted areas. |

| embedded object | becomes part of the document and is no longer connected to the original image. |
