TermDefinition
Caption Consist of a few different words and are used for figures, tables, and equations.
Crop Trim the horizontal or vertical edges to remove unwanted areas.
Drawing Canvas Serves as a guide where the drawing tools can change the shape, add text, apply styles, fill with theme or standard colors, create gradients, add textures, or apply preset effects.
Embedded Object Becomes part of the document and is no longer connected to the original image.
Floating Object The image is positioned on the page and allows text to wrap around it in several available formats.
Inline Object Moves along with the text that surrounds it.
Linked Object Creates a connection between the document and the external picture file, but doesn't incorporate the image into word.
Scale Increases or decreases the original picture's height and width by a percentage.
Screen Clippings Enables you to draw a box and capture an image of its contents.
Screenshot A menu appears containing thumbnails of the computer's open windows, and when selected inserts an image of that window.
Shapes Figures such as lines, rectangles, block arrows, equation shapes, flowcharts, stars, banners, and callouts.
Smartart Graphics Graphical illustrations available from a list of various categories, including list diagrams, process diagrams, cycle diagrams, hierarchy diagrams, relationship diagrams, matrix diagrams, and pyramid diagrams.
WordArt A feature that creates decorative effects with text.
