Creating Tables
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Ascending | Sorts text from beginning to end, such as from A to Z, 1 to 10, or January to December. |
| Cells | The rectangles that are formed when rows and columns intersect. |
| Cell range | Identified by two or more cells within the table. |
| Descending | Sorts text from the end to the beginning such as from Z to A, 10 to 1, and December to January. |
| Formulas | Option used to calculate a total, compute an average, determine the highest and lowest number, and count values. |
| Header row | The first row of the table that contains information that helps identify the contents of a particular column. |
| Merge cells | To combine two or more cells into one |
| Quick tables | Built-in preformatted tables, such as calendars and tabular lists. |
| Sort | To arrange data alphabetically, numerically, or chronologically. |
| Split cells | To divide one cell into two or more cells. |
| Table | An arrangement of data made up of horizontal rows and vertical columns. |
