Understand digital raster graphics

On-screen Resolution degree of sharpness displayed on screen
Print Resolution degree of sharpness on a printed document

Aspect Ratio The relationship of an objects width to height
Cropping cutting out part of an image
Layering Compiling multiple pictures of objects together into one image
Selections Identifying specific area of a layer or image that allows you too move or apply techniques to only specific area on that specific layer
Transforming Changing graphic size or dimensions through commands such as scaling and rotating
Layer Styles One or more effects applied to layer or group of layers
Layer Masks A non destructive method which allows you to to apply transparency
Transparency Removing the background color of a raster image making it see through
Fill putting a color, gradient, pattern, pattern, or texture
Gradients filling an object with a smooth transition from color to another
Adjustment Layers non-destructive layers that can be added to allow you to apply tonal and color adjustments
Filters used to apply special effects to an image that would be too difficult to create manually
Clone Stamp Area of an image then allows you to paint over it
Blend Modes Change the ways the layers interact by determining how a layer will will blend with layers below
