Spreadsheet Notes

TermDefinition
Spreadsheet Grid of rows and columns that can store and manipulate data
Columns vertical and identified by letters
Rows horizontal and identified by numbers
Cells data is stored in the intersection of the rows and columns
Quick access bar (located on top the left hand corner of the screen)
Active cell that is currently available for use.
Cell reference box (name box) is an area on the spreadsheet that identifies the location of the active cell.
edit line is the line in the spreadsheet where you can make changes to a data in a cell.
Entry line is the line in the spreadsheet where you can enter data into a cell.
formula bar is the line in a spreadsheet where you can enter a formula into a cell.
Rang is a block of continuous cells that can be manipulated together.
values are data that appear in the form of numbers
Labels are data that appears in alphabetic form.
Formulas are mathematical expressions that use formulas in a spreadsheet in calculations.
Relative cell reference is a reference to a cell in a formula that will adjust when it is copied from one cell to another.
Function are special formulas that do not operate to calculate a result.
Math Operators (+-*/) are symbols that indicate what math function will be performed.
Operands are numbers or cell references used in a cell formula
