Character Formatting

TermDefinition
character any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark
character spacing refers to the spacing in and around each character of text
character styles applied to individual characters or words that you select.
font a typeface that applies a style
live preview shows the selected text changes
paragraph styles when selected, format is applied instantly to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is located, whether or not that text is selected
point size refers to the height of character
text effects add a distinctive appearance to selected text, such as outline, shadow, glow, and reflection
word art a feature that creates decorative effects with text
