Character Formatting

TermDefinition
Character Any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark.
Character Spacing The spacing in and around each character of text.
Character Styles Applied to individual characters or words that you select.
Font A typeface that applies a style to characters.
Live Preview Preview of what text would look like with a font.
Paragraph Styles Format applied instantly to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is located, whether or not that text is selected
Point size Refers to the height of characters
Text Effects Add a distinctive appearance to selected text, such as outline, shadow, glow, and reflection.
WordArt A feature that creates decorative effects with text.
