Term | Definition |

Backstage View | The view that opens when you click the File tab. It contains commands for managing backstage view files. |
Command | An action that you preform by clicking a button or list on the ribbon |
Dialog Box | displays additional options or information you can use to execute a command |
Dialog Box Launcher | A small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group |
Group | Collections of related word commands |
I-Beam | The intersection point changes to a large "I" |
Quick Access Toolbar | located above the Ribbon and contains commands that users access most often |
Ribbon | contains multiple commands on seperate tabs |
Tab | Text that papers blue when active |
Block style | Format aligns text along the left margin |
Insertion point | In the upper-left corner of the document is where you begin creating your document |
Menu | List of options associated with them |
Mixed punctuation | Requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the closing |
Nonprinting characters | symbols for certain formatting commands |
Open punctuation | Requires no punctuation after the salutation or the closing |
Preview | Using the scroll bar and select any template |

Repeat | Repeats you last action |
Save | Saves their work to the cloud |
Save As | appears when clicked in the file tab |
Settings | shows your options |
Template | Master document with predefined page layout, fonts, margins, and styles |
Undo | lets you cancel or undo your last word command or option |
White space | space between pages of the documents |
Word wrap | Automatically wraps text to the next line as it reaches the right margin |
