Backstage View The view that opens when you click the File tab. It contains commands for managing backstage view files.
Command An action that you preform by clicking a button or list on the ribbon
Dialog Box displays additional options or information you can use to execute a command
Dialog Box Launcher A small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group
Group Collections of related word commands
I-Beam The intersection point changes to a large "I"
Quick Access Toolbar located above the Ribbon and contains commands that users access most often
Ribbon contains multiple commands on seperate tabs
Tab Text that papers blue when active
Block style Format aligns text along the left margin
Insertion point In the upper-left corner of the document is where you begin creating your document
Menu List of options associated with them
Mixed punctuation Requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the closing
Nonprinting characters symbols for certain formatting commands
Open punctuation Requires no punctuation after the salutation or the closing
Preview Using the scroll bar and select any template
Print Located on the file tab in backstage
Repeat Repeats you last action
Save Saves their work to the cloud
Save As appears when clicked in the file tab
Settings shows your options
Template Master document with predefined page layout, fonts, margins, and styles
Undo lets you cancel or undo your last word command or option
White space space between pages of the documents
Word wrap Automatically wraps text to the next line as it reaches the right margin

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.
