Word Lesson 1 understanding

Backstage view | A tools that offers quick access to command for performing many file management tasks all displayed in a single navigation pane that can be customized to meet users needs |
Block Style | is a format that aligns text along along the left margin, including the date, inside address, salutation, body of the letter, closing, and signature. |
Command | Is an instruction based on an action that you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box. |
Dialog box | A box that displays additional options or information you can use to execute |
Groups | collections of related word commands |
I-beam | The large "I" created when users place the cursor near the insertion point. |
Insertion point | The blinking point at the upper-left side of the document where you will begin creating your text |
Menu | A list of options. |
Mixed punctuation | A style that requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the closing |
Nonprinting characters | Symbols for certain formatting commands that can help users create and edit documents. |
Open punctuation | A style that requires no punctuation after the salutation or the closing. |

White space | is the space between pages of the document. |
Word Wrap | Wrap the text to the next line as it reaches the right margin. |
