| command | a button, list, or other clickable option on the ribbon |
| dialog box | display additional option or information you can use to execute a command |
| group | collection of related Word command |
| i-beam | when placing cursor near it, the intersection point changes to a large "I" |
| ribbon | contain commands you use while working with a documents |
| tabs | a label section on the ribbon, it contain a group of related tools |
| text box | a box that lets you put character in a box |
| dialog box launcher | a small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group |
| block style | aligns text along the left margin, including the date, inside address, salutation, body of the letter, closing, and signature |
| insertion point | blinking line in the upper-left corner is where you begin creating your text |

| mixed punctuation | requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after the closing |
