| Backstage view | The backstage view is the screen you are brought to after clicking on the files which shows you all of the downloads and documents on the pc. |
| Block Style | A font that aligns letters in the left margin. |
| Command | An instruction that depends on an action that you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box. |
| Dialog box | A box, normally made for text, to inform a writer |
| Dialog box launcher | A tool that, when clicked on, creates a dialog box |
| Groups | A gathering of words or sites. |
| I-beam | When the cursor is over text, then the cursor turns to an I |
| Insertion point | A blank place where you are meant to start typing |
| Menu | A main area where things can be stored on a computer with dropboxes |
| Mixed punctuation | Text that requires a colon |
| Nonprinting characters | Symbols for certain formatting commands that help you edit a document |
| Open punctuation | No punctuation after a salutation or closing |
| Preview | A command that lets you see your document before you print |
