Understanding Word

Backstage View A tool that is offers access to command for performing file management task all displayed in a single navigation pane that can be customized to meet users need
Block Style Aligns text along the right margin 4 alignment options
Command Is an instruction based on an action an action that you perform in Word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box
Dialog Box displays additional options or information you can use to execute a command
Dialog Box Launcher A small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group
Groups Collections related to Word commands
I-Beam The insertion point that changes to a large "I"
Insertion Point The blinking point at the upper-left side of the document where you will be creating your text
Menu a list of option
Mixed Punctuation A style that requires a colon and a comma after the closing
Open Punctuation a style that requires no punctuation after the salutation or the
Preview You can see how your document is going to look before you print
Print to send a document to a printer
Quick Access Toolbar Contains commands that users access most often
Repeat Repeat the last action
Ribbon Contains multiple commands on seperate tabs
Save A button in the Quick-Access toolbar that saves existing document
Save As A dialog box that will save document in specific format
Settings An option that enables users to set document properties
Tabs Contains several groups, or collections of related Word commands
Template A master document with predefined page layout fonts, margin, and styles that used to create new documents with the same formatting
Undo Cancel or undo your last Word command or action
White Space A space between pages of the document
Word Wrap Automatically wraps the text to the next line
