| Term | Definition |

| Backstage View | areas where files and data and about them is managed, creating, printing, sending to others |
| Block Style | a format style that aligns text along the left margin |
| Command | is a specific order from a user to the computers operating system to an application to preform a service |
| Dialog Box | usually contains one or more controls with which the user enters text,chooses options, or directs the action. |
| Dialog Box launcher | a small arrow in the lower right corner of the group |
| Groups | Grouping helps you move multiple objects as a group. group shapes and objects using the Drawing tools |
| I-beam | is a mouse cursor, indicating that the mouse is over an area where text can be typed. |
| Insertion point | is the blinking vertical line in your document. It indicates where you can enter text on the page. |
| Menu | a list of options |
| Mixed Punctuation | is when you add a colon to the end of a salutation in your documents. |
| Non printing Characters | for content designing in word, processors, which aren't displayed at printing to help the creator edit |
| Open punctuation | a style that requires no punctuation after the salutation in closing |
| Preview | when you are previewing or checking a document before printing |
| a computer transferring data to a computer printer and generating a hard copy of the electronic data being printed | |
| Quick access tool bar | a toolbar that contains commands that users use more often, such as Save As, Undo, and Redo |
| Repeat | repeats your last action |
| Ribbon | is a set of toolbars at the top of the window, designed to help you quickly find the commands that you need to complete a task |
| Save | a button in the Quick Access toolbar that saves an existing document |
| Save as | a dialog box that will save a document in a specific format |
| Setting | an option that enables users to set document properties |
| Tabs | are a paragraph-formatting feature used to align text. |
| Template | a file that serves as a starting point for a new document. |
| Undo | a function performed to reverse the action of an earlier action. |
| White Space | space between pages in a document |
| Word Wrap | a tool automatically wraps the text |
