Word lesson -1 understanding word

| Backstage view | A tool that offers quick access to commands . |
| Block style | Format that aligns text along the left margin. |
| Command | An instruction based on a action that you perform in word by clicking a button or entering information into a command box. |
| Dialog box | It displays additional options or information that you can use to execute a command. |
| Dialog box launcher | A small arrow in the lower-right corner of the group that you click to launch a dialog-box. |
| Groups | A collection of related word commands. |
| I-beam | When you place your cursor near the upper-left corner of the document, the insertion point changes to a large "I" which is called the I-beam. |
| Insertion point | upper-left corner of the word document where you begin creating your text. |
| Menu | A list of options. |
| Mixed punctuation | A style that requires requires a colon after the salutation and a comma after closing. |
| Non-printing characters | Non-printing characters are symbols for certain formatting commands. |

| White space | It is a space between the documents where a gray area between the bottom of each page and the top of the next one. |
| Word Wrap | Automatically wraps text to the next line as it reaches the right margin or the end of the margin. |
| Mini toolbar | A small toolbar with popular commands that appears when you point to select text. |
