word lesson 1 understanding word

| dialog box | displays additional options or information you can use to execute a command |
| dialog box launcher | a small arrow in the lower right corner of the group. |
| groups | collection of related word commands. |
| l-beam | a mouse cursor, indicating that the mouse is over a area where can text can be typed. |
| intersection point | distinguishing these cases and finding the intersection point. |
| menu | list of options associated with them |
| mixed punctuation | requires a colon of after the salutation and comma after the closing. |
| nonprinting characters | which are symbols for certain formatting commands |
| open punctuation | requires no punctuation after the salutation of the closing. |
