Ethics law and legal system key terms

TermDefinition
Administrative Law The body of law that regulates the operation and procedures of government agencies
Case Law The law as established by the outcome of former cases
English Common Law The body of law derived from judicial decisions
Ethics Moral principles that govern a person’s behavior
Greatest Good A goal put forth for governments, they should be judged by the results of their policies
Law of Precedent A legal case that establishes a rule (Authority)
Statutory Law A written law passed by a body of legislature
The Golden Rule Always to be followed to ensure success
Consequential Ethical Reasoning Consequences of ones conduct are the ultimate basis for any judgment about the rightness or wrongness of that conduct
