Ethics, Sources of law Key Terms

| administrative law | The body of law that regulates and the operations and procedures of government agencies. |
| Case Law | the law as established by the outcome of former cases |
| English Common Law | is the body of law derived from judicial decisions of courts and similar tribunals. |
| ethics | moral principles that govern a person's behavior or the conducting of an activity. |
| greatest good | policies that benefit the majority |
| Law of Precedent | legal case that establishes a principle or law |
| Statutory law | written law passed by body of legislature |
| golden rule | persuasion to jury to put themselves in the verdict's shoes before making decision |
| consequential ethical reasoning | consequences of one's conduct is the ultimate judgment about the rightness or wrongness |
| rule based ethical reasoning | rights and wrongs of human conduct |
