Be able to describe the various components and the purpose of an infrastructure. The infrastructure includes all of the hardware, software, physical security, and operational security methods in place. Key components of your infrastructure include devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, and the other devices used in the network.
Know the difference between false positives and false negatives. False negative - any event that should be flagged but isn’t. Dangerous because it can lure you into a false sense of security. False positive - flagged event that has been falsely triggered.
Know the difference between affinity-based load balancing and round-robin load balancing. With affinity scheduling, like services are sent to like servers. With round-robin, the first client request is sent to the first group of servers; the second is sent to the second; and so on.
