chromosomes structures in the center of the cell that carry genes
clone an identical copy of something grown from a single cell of its parent
dominant trait a trait that is visible or rules over the other traits
gene a tiny part of a chromosome that contains genetic information and controls traits
heredity traits passed down from parents to children through genes
meiosis a process that causes a cell to divide its chromosomes to become 4 new cells
mitosis a process that causes a cell to divide its chromosomes to become 2 new cells
mutation a change within a gene or chromosome resulting in a new feature
recessive trait a trait that is hidden
traits specific inherited characteristics such as eye or hair color that a person gets from his/her parents
