Publishing Vocab

Vocabulary

TermDefinition
A picture or publication that visually represents a company or business. Logo.
The way the objects, shapes, and text are arranged on the page. Page layout.
Allows you to add color to the selected areas on the page. Shading.
Formatting for text that allows you to create lists throughout your document. Bullet/numbered list.
Allows you to put a border(line, picture, or other artwork) around the whole page. Page borders.
The appearance of the typed text. Font.
A box that has rows and columns and is used to organize data. Table.
A sign that usually contains informational or promotional material. Flyer.
Allows you to add color to the inside of selected objects. Fill color.
Allows you to add color to the outside line of selected objects. Line color.
A box that can be colored or transparent and automatically allows you to type within its boundaries. Text box.
When many objects are used to make one objects so that they can be moved all at once. Group.
A small booklet or pamphlet often containing informational or promotional material. Brochure.
Formatting for the pictures that specifies how the text wraps around objects(shapes, pictures, etc.) on the page. Text wrapping.
Objects that can be drawn on your page; you can add color or patterns or add text to these objects. Shapes.
A document containing text and graphics that is distributed in print or online. Publication.
