TermDefinition
Cell The intersection of a column and a row in a table or worksheet
Content Control A special placeholder designed to contain a specific type of text such as a date or the page number
Document Information Panel A pane that you can display at the top of the document window in which you can view or add properties to the document
Footer Text that is printed at the bottom of each page
Gridline The lines form the table that form rows and columns
Header Text that is printed at the top of each page
Orphan The last line of a paragraph at the top of the page
Page Break The place where one page ends and another begins
Property Identifying info about a file that is saved along with the file such as the author’s name and the date the file was created
Section A part of the document where you can apply a layout, headers and footers, page numbers, margins, orientation, and other formatting features different from the rest of the document
Sort To arrange a list of words or numbers in ascending or descending order
Table Text or pictures arranged in columns and rows
Widow The first line of a paragraph at the bottom of the page
