Reflexes Part 3


Optical Head Righting Onset: birth-2 months, persists through life. hold vertically, tilt body off center, position of head is mediated by the visual system
Labyrinthine Head Righting Onset: 2 months, persists though life. vestibular system maintains the position of the head
Downward Parachute Onset: 4 months, persists through life. quickly lowers body towards surface, legs extend.
Forward Parachute Onset: 6-9 months. persists through life. quickly tip forward, arms and neck extend
Sideward Parachute Onset: 7 months, persists through life. tip off balance, arm extends and abducts
Backward Parachute Onset: 9-10 months, persists through life. quicly tip backwards, arms extend back.
Prone Tilting Onset: 5 months, persists through life. prone on tilt board, spine curves on raised side both arm and leg extend and abduct.
Supine Tilting Onset: 7-8 months, persists through life. supine or sitting on tilt board. spine curves on raised side both arm and leg extend and abduct.
Quadruped Tilting Onset 9-12 months, persists through life. baby on all 4's spine curves on raised side both arm and leg extend and abduct.
Standing Tilting Onset: 12-24 months, persists through life. baby standing on tilt board spine curves on raised side both arm and leg extend and abduct
