External business communication - Is the way a business interacts with those outside the organization - Includes the following fields: - Public relations - Media _relations - Advertising - Marketing
Public Relations Method of establishing and maintaining a relationship between an organization and the public.
Public Relation Practitioners Plan overall public relations goals for the organization
Advertising An act to bring public notice to to a product or service
Marketing Process of planning, pricing, promoting, selling, and distributing goods or services
Proposals Are specific information about the needs of the customers and the way the seller is going to satisfy those needs
The listening Process Includes: Hearing, Focusing, Understanding, Remembering
Evaluative listening Also known as "critical listening"
Appreciative listening Refers to listening for pleasure
Empathetic listening Also known as "active listening"
False listening Refers to the receiver pretending to listen but thinking of other things instead
Selective listening Act of listening only to the things you WANT to hear
Partial listening When a receiver is listening to the sender with the intention to understand but becomes distracted
Full listening Happens when the listener pays close attention to what is being said in order to fully understand the message
Deep listening Often leads to feelings of connection, caring and compassion
Recording Act of committing material to a permanent record, either written or digital
Editing Act of adjusting material to suit required purposes
Scripting Writing out what will happen, be said, be shown in a given situation, such as when recording a video or audio file.
Objective Statement Line(s) in a resume that tell a potential employer what you plan to do in your career or the type of employment you are seeking.
Experience Block The section of a resume which shows where you have worked and what you have done at those jobs previous to the point in time when the resume was written.
Qualifications Block The section of the resume that would list those things about you that would make you a good candidate for the position for which you are applying.
Personal Info Block The section of the resume that lists your name, address, phone number and other pertinent personal information.
