TermDefinition
Bibliography Works Cited lists but only books.
Bookmark A reference point, a location, or a selection of text that you name and identify for future reference.
Caption A line of text that describes an object, which can appear above or below the object it describes.
Citation A note specifying the source of information.
Endnote Placed in a list at the end of the document.
Footer Appears at the bottom of a document page.
Footnote Placed at the bottom of the page on which the citation is located.
Header Appears at the top of a document page.
Hyperlink A way to jump from one location to another, either within the same document or to an external location.
Hypertext transfer protocol How the data is transferred to the external site through the servers.
MLA style Modern Language Association style.
Plagiarism Compromising your work by quoting, paraphrasing, or summarizing outside sources without giving the original author credit.
Source Includes all the information about where a specific element of your paper comes from, so the reader can find the original work.
Tab leader Are the symbols that appear between the table of contents topic and the corresponding page number.
Table of Authorities A specialized type of bibliography used in legal documents.
Table of Contents An ordered list of the headings in a document, along with the page numbers on which the headings are found.
Works Cited A collection of sources that you place at the end of a document.
