TermDefinition
Caption Consist of a few descriptive words, and are typically used for figures, tables, an equations.
Crop Trims the horizontal or vertical edges to remove unwanted areas.
Drawing canvas Serves as a guide
Embedded object Becomes part of the document and is no longer connected to the original image.
Floating object Can be moved independently of the surrounding text characters.
Inline object Usually result in more attractive spacing.
Scale Increases or decreases the original picture’s height and width by a percentage.
Screen Clippings Enables you to draw a box and capture an image of its contents.
Screenshot A menu appears containing thumbnails of a computer’s open windows.
Shapes Figures such as lines, rectangles, block arrows, equation shapes, flow charts, etc.
