Word Lesson 3

TermDefinition
Character Any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark
Character spacing Refers to the spacing in and around each character of text
Character styles Applied to individual characters or words that you select
Font A typeface that applies a style to characters
Live preview The selected text changes with a live preview of what it would look like in that font
Paragraph styles The format is applied instantly to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is located, whether that text is selected
Point size Refers to the height of characters, with one point equaling approximately 1/72 of an inch
Text Effects Add a distinctive appearance to select text, such as outline, shadow, glow, and reflection
Word Art A feature that creates decorative effects with text.
