TermDefinition
Character is any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark.
Character spacing Refers to the spacing in and around each character of text. Character spacing options in Word include the following: Scale, Spacing, and Position.
Character styles Are applied to individual characters or words that you select.
Font Is a type face that applies a style to characters.
Live preview An LCD screen on a digital camera that is viewed too frame and shoot pictures, not just display them after they’ve been taken.
Paragraph styles Format is applied instantly to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is located, whether or not that text is selected.
Point size Refers to the height of characters with one point equaling approximately 1/72 of an inch.
Text Effects Add a distinctive appearance to selected text, such as outline, shadown, glow, and reflection.
WordArt A feature that creates decorative effects with text. For example, you can apply effects to the text by adding shadow, reflection, glow, bevel, or 3-D rotation.
