The quality of relationship between employees and employers. If these are poor there will often be conflict between employers and staff Industrial relations
This refers to a positive attitude to work. Employees attitude to work can be improved by providing free food. Morale
This describes when employees are missing from work on a regular basis. If this happens a lot then it can be a sign of a poor working environment. Absenteeism
This refers to the amount of staff who leave the company. High levels of staff leaving a company not only mean the staff are unhappy there, but also can costs the company a lot of money Staff Turnover
These are interest groups which seek to uphold and improve the working conditions of their members An example of one would be SIPTU which is the largest trade union in Ireland Trade Union
This is a worker and trade union member who has been elected by colleagues as their representative in the workplace. For example if you have issues in work with something and you are a member of a union you can contact them for help. Shop Steward
Workers receive a pay rise because they are carrying out extra work. For example filling 60 Monopoly boxes a minute instead of 40, workers could demand this pay increase. Productivity pay increase
Workers often seek pay increase to keep pace with the level of inflation in the economy For example when the cost of food and rent and other living expenses go up , then workers seek to get a similar increase in their pay. Cost of living pay increase
