Word 2016 Unit 3 Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Character Any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark.
Character spacing The spacing in and around each character of text.
Character styles Applied to individual characters or words that you select.
Font A typeface that applies a style to characters.
Live preview Allows you to preview changes to your document before you commit to finalizing those changes.
Paragraph styles Instantly applies a format to all text in the paragraph where the insertion point is location, whether or not that text is selected.
Point size Refers to the height of characters, with one point equaling approximately 1/72 of an inch.
Text effects Add a distinctive appearance to selected text, such as outline, shadow, glow, and reflection.
WordArt A feature that creates decorative effects with text.
