Lesson 2 Word 2016

TermDefinition
Autocorrect Feature that automatically replaces symbols, commonly misspelled words, and abbreviations with specific text strings.
Clipboard Stores copied/cut items for you to paste in a different place on the document or on another Office file.
Copy Word duplicates the text and stores a copy in the Clipboard.
Cut Removes text from original location and stores it in the Clipboard.
Document properties Identify the creator or the document, date the document was created, subject and category, and keywords that can be used to search for the document.
Go To Allows you to quickly navigate through long documents.
Navigation Pane Provides options for browsing and searching in a document.
Object Zoom Allows you to magnify/zoom in on objects such as tables, charts, or images while in Read Mode.
Paste Places text from the Clipboard on the original document or a new document.
Read Mode Changes page layout of the document with a larger font for easier reading. Also has access to tools for editing and navigating through the document.
Replace Can be used to replace one word or phrase with another or you can search for and replace formatting.
Thumbnails A small image representing a larger version of that said image, used to help navigation and makes it faster to look at/manage a group of larger images.
Wildcard Finds words or phrases that contain specific letters or a combination of letters
