Basic vocabulary and computer terminology
Term | Definition |

file | A collection of data stored in one unit. It can be a document, picture, audio, etc. |
folder | Contains documents, programs, images, scripts, libraries and files. |
filename | A text string that identifies a file. |
default | A preset value for some option in a computer program. |
directory | Contain files on your hard drive that are organized into various folders and subfolders. |
document | A type of file that has been created or saved by an application such as Word, PowerPoint or Excel. |
crop | The removal of unwanted parts of an image. |
grouping | Allows to rotate, flip, move, or resize all shapes or objects at the same time as though they were a single shape or object. |
text wrap | A feature supported by many word processors that enables you to surround a picture or diagram with text. |
window | A rectangular area on a computer screen in which programs and content appear. It can be moved, resized, minimized, and overlapped with other windows. |
desktop | A location on your computer that gives easy access to files, folders and programs. |
