| Dominance/Emphasis | A visual focal point |
| Grids | Even framework that are parallel and cross over each other that aid in symmetry and focal point |
| Rule of Thirds | Horizons sit and a horizontal line dividing the lower third and the upper two thirds; aids in process of composing visual hierarchy |
| Optical Center | Any ray of light that will not suffer deviation when passing through the lens |
| Z-pattern | A row of light content, interspersed with large graphics or attention grabbing content |
