Proportional | Corresponding in size or amount to something else |
Visual Hierarchy | The order a user processes information on a page |

Text Style | Collection of formatting instructions |
Leading | Amount of blank space between lines of print |
Kerning | Space between individual letter forms |
Tracking | Spacing between a range of characters |

Color Harmony | Combining colors in a way that is satisfying to the eye; colors that work well together |

Complementary color scheme | Colors that are opposing to each other on the color wheel |
Analogous color scheme | Colors that are beside of each other on the color wheel |
Monochromatic scheme | Shades of one particular color on the color wheel |

Tint | Amount of another color added to one color |
Shade | Darkness and coolness to a color |
Saturation | Brightness or dullness of a color |
Balance | Even distribution of elements in a composition |

Contrast | Two things being different from each other together |
Unity/Harmony | Elements forming a complex whole |
Scale/Proportion | Gradual range of size of one element |
Dominance/Emphasis | A visual focal point |
Grids | Even framework that are parallel and cross over each other that aid in symmetry and focal point |
Rule of Thirds | Horizons sit and a horizontal line dividing the lower third and the upper two thirds; aids in process of composing visual hierarchy |
Optical Center | Any ray of light that will not suffer deviation when passing through the lens |
Z-pattern | A row of light content, interspersed with large graphics or attention grabbing content |
