What are Soft Skills? A term often associated with a person's EQ, (Emotional Cluster)the cluster of personality traits, social attributes, communication, language, personal habits, interpersonal skills, management of people, and leadership.
What is Professionalism? The competence or skill expected of a professional. In the workplace, how we look, dress, talk, write, and interact with others.
What are the three types of communication? Verbal, nonverbal, and written.
What are the top three skills that employers seek? The ability to work as a team, To make decisions and solve problems, To plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Can Soft Skills be learned? Yes.
What is a team player? A person who is Committed, Collaborative, Dependable and Reliable, Communicative, and Enthusiastic.
What are the typical employee handbook categories? Dress code, Safety regulations, Smoking policies, drug and alcohol policies, computer usage policies, work hours, vacation, holiday, lunch and break policies, and time off policies and procedures, Federal, state and local compliance rules and regulations.
What are the three regulatory agencies? Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
What are the labor laws and regulations? The Civil Rights Act, The Fair Labor Standards Act, State and Local Labor Laws.
What are tips for writing effectively in the workplace? Know your audience, Format business documents properly, Focus on content and style, Proofread thoroughly and revise accordingly, and Be concise.
What are the Fair Labor Standards Act establish? The FLSA established minimum wage, overtime, record keeping,and child labor protections in the private sector of federal, state, and local governments.
What is a example of a soft skill? Communication, Teamwork and Collaboration, Time Management, Flexibility and Adaptability, Decision-Making, Leadership, creativity, Responsibility, Commitment, Ability to work under pressure.
