Differentiated Instruction | when the teacher has made adjustments to meet the needs of individual students |

Orientation | Overview of lesson so students know what is expected of them. |
Presentation | teacher provides students what they need to acquire the knowledge and skills expected of them. |
Structured and Guided practice | students complete some task under the supervision of the teacher |
Independent Practice and application | opportunities for students to practice or apply what they have learned |
I + I Reading strategy | combining the students independent reading level and their personal interests in order to connect students to books. |
Individual Conferences | meeting with parents used to discuss what the child has read, to help find new books for the child to read, and to work on a skill or strategy that the child has not mastered. |
