UPS Depth of Knowledge

QuestionAnswer
When do you use and how do you properly secure a conveyor belt? Break a Jam, Move a diverter, and Walk a Belt
Once a belt has been secured, who can insecure the belt? Only the person who secured it.
When can you Lockout equipment? NEVER if not certified
What are the yard safety rules? Use designated doors, walkways, and break areas. CERTIFIED when outside these areas need to have a vest and cone. Driver rules are pull keys when out of seat, wear seatbelt, follow speed limits, and have 360 degree visibility.
Where do you go in the event of a tornado, hurricane, or earthquake and how are you notified? General area outside of copy room and notified by word of mouth.
Explain what you would do if a package is generating smoke, fumes, or otherwise irritating? (3 steps) Do Not Touch, leave area, and notify supervisor.
Explain what you would do if a package were leaking, and it carries no label or other indication of its contents? (4 steps) Treat as hazard, do not touch, leave area, notify supervisor.
In an emergency evacuation, where do you assemble and where is the Emergency Evacuation Plan posted for your work area? Feeder staging area-corner of Pope & Foden. If you do not know where plan is posted, ask your supervisor.
