Post-secondary Education or training after high school.
Pre- requisite A class that must be taken before another class can be taken.
Private college A college that relies on endowments, tuition, and fundraising in order to operate; does not receive money the government.
PSA Public service annoucement
P-SAT A test used to prepare for the SAT
Public college A college that operates and is financially supported by the state in which it is located.
Required class Classes that local school board has decided are necessary for all students in order to graduate.
SAT A test that assesses high school students' general educational development and their ability to complete college-level work.
Service learning Volunteer service projects that give students useful work experience while benefiting the community.
Specialty degree A college degree that is higher than a master's degree, but not equal to a doctorate.
Tech prep A program between high school and community college that offers students an opportunity to earn college credit.
Technical school A private post-secondary school that offers training programs for special career specialties; usually skilled labor programs.
Transcripts A record of the courses a student has taken, the grades earned and the credits earned.
University/college A post-secondary institution that offers degrees; usually larger and offer more advanced degree programs.
Vocation/occupation Work in which a person is regularly employed.
